Fox Sign/Peafowl ritual - How Birds See the World - (AR)
By scanning the QR codes, visitors are presented with a visual experience of a human and a peacock (bird) using AR. In the past, En no Ozunu, the founder of Shugendo, the path of ascetic training practiced by the gyoja or yamabushi was taught the Peacock Chant by Monk Hyegwan. The monk was very impressed when he heard that the young Shokaku was always walking in the mountains, so he taught him the “”Peacock Spell”” and told him to recite it to protect himself if he encountered something terrible (BUTSUMO DAIKUJAKU MYOUOUKYOU). Biologically, visual organs of birds differ from those of humans and birds have four color cones, whereas humans have three; red, green, and blue. Unlike our trichromatic nature, birds are tetrachromatic and can also sense colors in the ultraviolet (UV) spectrum.
