The wind that blew in Atami was the kind of wind that blow at tourist destinations.
Every place has its own everyday life––but somehow the wind carried so much excitement that I almost forgot about it.
I wanted to make a piece of work about life in Atami, something that would capture personal moments.
A towel used somewhere is a part of someone’s life.
I want to hear the sound of the towel makes as it is blown by the wind of Atami.
Born in Tokyo in 1989. Completed the Department of Intermediate Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts.
He considers everything he makes to be a vessel. the process of replacing everyday items such as clothes and towels with ceramics is called “vesselization” (Utsuwaka). he creates sculptures and installations based on this.
