Tsukiyama Shota

Title:

EENT/ODO

Description:

Based on a previous piece by the same artist, “End Evening Nautical Twilight,” which focused on how snipers make use of natural phenomena such as optical illusions and visual guidance, the artist combines it with “Olive drab Objects” that was created as a new element in Atami to make this installation. “Olive drab Objects” questions our perception of things, inspired by how snipers camouflage themselves in the field to deceive their enemies to how they quickly improvised where they stand.

Profile:

Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1997, he graduated from Nippon Photography Institute in 2019.
He is also a member of TOKYO PHOTOGRAPHIC RESEARCH and Culture Centre.
He has been creating experimental works such as “matrix,” in which he attempted to fix deteriorated and altered memories, and other works in which he photographed the private photographic motif of a lover and physically manipulated the photographic medium. In recent years, he has been creating photographic works that cross over into various forms, including two-dimensional and three-dimensional, and has adopted a three-dimensional approach to his work out of an interest in the act of looking. He also runs “phil,” an atelier and restaurant space in Higashiyamato City.
