Hikari Asano

Title:

Rotate ATAMI

Description:

This work uses hiragana, katakana, kanji, and English characters to express the images of the region associated with the keyword ‘Atami.’ Inspired by the signs of long-established stores, natural landscapes, beaches, and interactions with local residents encountered during the artist’s stay, the piece will be exhibited as a moving two-dimensional artwork. Viewers can touch, experience, and rotate each dial within the work. Through the element of rotation, the artist hopes to evoke the sea breeze and the lively presence of people in Atami.
