Deep Dirt Diffuse Dream
‘Deep Dirt Diffuse Dream’ is a collection of works consisting of three spirit-shaped earthenware pieces, digital collectibles of videos documenting their sightings, and accompanying text. These spirits have been summoned into the present through the ritual ‘Silent Say Scan Spirits’ held in Kanazawa, Osaka, and Hiroshima. In Atami, the earthenware and videos can be viewed only at night at Bar Komado. The texts are distributed throughout the city of Atami, and through QR codes attached to the texts, you can obtain the digital collectibles of the sighting videos.”
◆Special Program “META ATAMI -Story of Artificial Technoscape-”
“META ATAMI – Story of Artificial Technoscape” is an art program that explores, from a trans-artistic perspective, the relationship between technology and nature, reality and virtuality, past and future, and humans and non-humans. It juxtaposes technoscapes (technological landscapes) left in Atami with the elements of landscapes (natural landscapes) such as local resources, environment, and history.
The five invited artists will each depict the multi-layered aspects of Atami through various technological approaches, such as AI, VR/AR, and social media. Their reinterpretations will engage with the Izu Peninsula’s geological formation created a million years ago by the collision with the Philippine Sea Plate, the scattered Jomon-era ruins, Buddhist art, the activities of people in a tourist destination, and even the sound of waves that can be heard in Atami today.
We invite you to experience the vision of Atami, as it emerges from the intersection of technology and time.
