Namae Myoji + Wataru Hayashi
Weave the Seaside
This installation delves into the intertwined histories of the shipwreck “Asahi No. 16,” which still rests at a depth of approximately 25 meters in Atami Bay, and the town of “Nagisa,” built upon land reclaimed from the shore.
Throughout the long passage of time, humans have perpetually reshaped nature and the land they inhabit, transforming them into new forms.
As cities and environments continue to undergo metamorphosis by human hands, what will they, in their altered forms, bequeath to future generations?
