Title:

Object “wall” painting[ATAMI]

Description:

This piece is part of the “Object painting” series, which draws inspiration from traditional Nihonga(Japanese painting).
Many Nihonga works depict pre-existing subjects. Thus, the essence lies not in the subject matter itself, but in the use of space and the manner of expression on a flat surface devoid of depth. In this series, the artist offers a contemporary reinterpretation of this concept by employing geometric forms as motifs and transforming the subtle gradations of sumi ink into gradients.
For this exhibition, the image is projected onto moss-covered stone walls, weathered by the sea breezes of Atami, creating a dialogue between the artwork and its environment.
