Takashi Nakajima
Takashi Nakajima is a contemporary artist from Tokyo, who currently lives in Ota-ku. He graduated from Kuwasawa Design School Photography Department in 1994 and spent time living overseas, including a stay in Berlin, Germany in 2001. In 2014 and 2016, he received grants from Tsumusuiken Memorial Foundation for Cultural Promotion, and in 2014, he was awarded the Grand Prize of the JEUNE CREATION AWARD as part of ART OSAKA 2014. From 2017 onwards, he continued to present large-scale spatial works at museums, art festivals, and galleries, including for an exhibition at the Ota City Museum of Art and Library entitled “The intersection of pictures and words is the beginning of a story.”
He works with installations made mainly of packaging materials, visualizing the relationships between people, objects, events, and places in buildings and spaces through light, atmosphere, and time. His works promote new relationships both within Japan and internationally, with his installation often shown both indoors and outdoors.
