MANTLE (Shu Isaka + Soshi Nakamura)

MANTLE is an art collective formed by video artists Hiiragi Isaka and Soshi Nakamura. MANTLE attempts to access every geological singularity on earth and to intervene within the time of geological movements using image timelapse.
Like the mantle, which is solid yet also has a convection liquid phase at accelerated time flows, MANTLE manipulates things that are too slow or too fast to see and recreates another sense of time that wriggles behind our daily lives. Their video editing practices are therefore meant to modulate existing views of the earth.
