Yuta Niwa x KEITA MARUYAMA
Yuta Niwa is a painter. With motifs such as catfish and giant salamander, he creates works focusing on the history of invisible disasters. He focuses on the power of perception of all things black. His major exhibitions include the solo exhibition “Catfish no Komyo” (2021), the solo exhibition “PAINT IT BLACK” (2021), and the Yanbaru Art Festival Chishin Yamahara “Tanuki Shusei – Recommending Alcohol” (2021). He has been studying in Beijing since 2020, but has temporarily returned to Japan due to the coronavirus pandemic. He is currently working in Japan.
His work during this exhibition is a collaboration with the fashion brand KEITA MARUYAMA. He has previously collaborated with KEITA MARUYAMA on a series of embroidered pieces based on the work “Big Cat in Azabu” in the KEITA MARUYAMA 2022 SS COLLECTION “Spring is Akebono, Summer is Night”. This time, he will exhibit his new paintings and clothes in HOTEL ACAO.
