Born in 1984 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
Yang02 is an artist who uses incorporates modern technology with existing dynamic products, such as Segway viewing spaces and drawing machines that use machine learning systems. He also intervenes in existing information systems and combines them in a form that diverts or misuses them to build new systems. His joint work with So Kanno won the 15th Newcomer Award (2012) and the 21st Award for Excellence (2018) at the Art Division of the Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival. In 2013, he stayed in Barcelona and Berlin under Japan’s Overseas Study Program for Upcoming Artists. His major exhibitions in recent years include “Someone Far Away”: (SCARTS, Sapporo, 2021) and “DOMANI: Tomorrow Exhibition” (National Art Center, Tokyo, 2018).
