Claire Fujita is an artist concerned with dynamic, mechanical, grandiose, and elaborate devices, rooted in both the problems and conflicts they face within the social structures in which they live and their private relationships. The relationship between material combinations can also be thought of as the relationship between humans. “Relationship” is an important concept in understanding her work, and she has created works that express the tension, misunderstanding, denial, admiration, cooperation, obsession, and power that exist in such relationship.
