Ryohei Obata

Through his creative activities, Ryohei Obata explores what it means to “exist”. In recent years, he has mainly been producing works based on research practices. In the “Signs of Action” series that he is currently working on, he uses as materials “items with traces of other people’s actions” that he has collected through research trips that he has been conducting continuously since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Through this collecting practice, he is trying to find the signs that dwell in people’s actions. In 2022, he participated in a collaboration project with a digital engineering company SOLIZE Inc. and created a VR work titled “Memory of Air”.
